Our Code of Conduct
This group is built on joy, connection, and mutual respect. By participating, you agree to uphold the following values:
- 🤝 Respect Boundaries & Zero Tolerance for Harassment
- Do not correct or touch someone’s body without their consent
- Accept “no” gracefully without expecting explanations
- Respect others’ physical and emotional space before, during, and after the class/social
- If someone expresses discomfort or asks for space, honor it immediately
- Repeated boundary violations or disrespectful behavior may result in removal from the group
- Sexual harassment, lewd comments, invasive questions, or unwanted flirting will not be tolerated

- All gender identities and expressions are welcome and affirmed here
- Use the name and pronouns people share with you. If you’re unsure please ask respectfully or listen and observe
- Be mindful of gendered language, anyone can lead or follow, regardless of gender or presentation
- Reject Racism & Honor the Roots
- Salsa and bachata come from Afro-Caribbean, Black, and Latinx communities. Respect and uplift their history.
- This is not just dance, it’s culture. Stay curious and learn about the traditions that shape this art form.
- Cultivate a Safer Space
- No body shaming, ageism, ableism, classism, or other forms of discrimination.
- Respect people’s pace of learning; offer encouragement, not unsolicited advice.
- If someone is being harmed or targeted, offer support or bring it to a facilitator.
- Take Feedback with Care
- If someone shares that your behavior caused harm or discomfort, listen with openness and humility.
- Defensiveness shuts down growth. This is a learning space for all of us.
